Colourful clothes, beautiful people, outrageous outfits, and the high intensity and stress of a short-lived event
Feeling
pretty surreal to have helped out with and experienced the Miss Unkon show at
Fashion Week. There is something truly magical about the brand. Whether it’s the
effortlessly cool execution, kind and gentle nature, or simply the passion
exuding from the beautiful creative team, there is such a strong and authentic presence.
The
pieces in show were both delicate and whimsical, painted in sorbet shades of
peach, pinks, and blues. A palette inspirited by the art deco era of Miami. Unabashedly
short but
sweet frocks danced across the runway, with peeks of metal arm candy to toughen
up the otherwise angelic appeal.
Courtney
Meyer, the creative driving force behind Miss Unkon said the Spring/Summer '12 collection reflected the everyday beauty often forgotten or overlooked. She has
such a warm personality, and as expected worked exceptionally gracefully backstage.
She is the perfect portrait of a miss Unkon girl herself.
It was exciting to manage the rsvp list, the show pulled an impressive crowd. Spotted were Alexandra Spencer from 4th and Bleeker, Geneva from A Pair and a Spare, Nicole from Gary Peppar Vintage, Kani from KisforKani, Yenny from Studded Hearts, Susie from StyleBubble, and Bryanboy!! Here are a few pictures of from both backstage
and front of house.
